When corporations, such as JDA Software, Benjamin Moore Paints, Countrywide, Hewlett Packard, Grainger Industrial, Harley-Davidson, Bayer, and The Pittsburgh Pirates, want to add magic to their sales programs, trade shows, or corporate galas, one name jumps to the front of their mind – Michael Grandinetti.
Audiences around the world have hailed Michael Grandinetti as a very talented and creative young illusionist. Over the years, his incredible magic has been featured on “Entertainment Tonight”, “New York Today”, “FOX & Friends”, “Crook & Chase”, “The Bold and the Beautiful”, “The Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon”, and the NBC television special “The World’s Most Dangerous Magic”.
With a true passion for performing, Michael Grandinetti’s magic has taken him around the globe - from New York to Italy, from Hawaii to Hollywood. In the spring of 2008, Michael was honored to be a featured performer at The White House for Easter.
In addition to performing cutting edge illusionary miracles, Michael brings to the table the unique ability to combine magic with a client’s product and message. When JDA Software wanted to illustrate that their company could not be harmed by the competitor’s dangerous lies, Michael magically passed a wall of razor sharp steel spikes through JDA’s CEO. For his performances in Washington DC, Michael caused a 10ft wide United States flag to materialize out of thin air. And this is just the beginning.
When he was just 20 years old, Michael created and produced his own two-hour show at Pittsburgh’s historic Byham Theater. During the performance, a sell-out crowd of twelve-hundred people watched in amazement as Michael made a 500 lb. Harley-Davidson motorcycle appear in mid-air, brought a painting of a beautiful woman to life, and levitated on the point of a razor sharp sword. That same year, Michael was honored to receive the City of Pittsburgh’s “All-Star Achievement Award”, given to those who have carved unique and noteworthy paths in their industry.
Michael’s charisma and contemporary style were introduced to the world when he performed his original creation “The Spike Tower” on the NBC television special “The World’s Most Dangerous Magic”. Bringing together seven of the world’s top illusionists, Michael was the youngest performer on the show.
When ABC Family wanted to promote their “World Magic Awards” television special, Michael was contacted to create and stage spectacular live demonstrations throughout New York City. During the event, crowds at Grand Central Station, Central Park, and Rockefeller Center watched in amazement as Michael levitated a woman while completely surrounded by the audience. Taking the illusion a step further, as a tribute to legendary illusionist Doug Henning, Michael caused a girl to float high above Santa Monica Beach - performing with the actual illusion equipment that was used by Henning 20 years earlier.
Over the past year alone, Michael performed over 150 shows around the country for corporate, casino, and television projects. He was also recently interviewed for the book "Variety Careers: Gaining Respect" along with six other noted illusionists, including famed Las Vegas performer Lance Burton.
A partial list of Michael’s live performances include CBS’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular, the “Wonderful World of Christmas” at Heinz Hall produced by Marvin Hamlisch, the Woman of Valor Gala in Beverly Hills with celebrity organizers including Danny DeVito, Rhea Perlman, and Jamie Lee Curtis, over 150 shows at the world-famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, and on the red carpet of ESPN’s “ESPY Awards” broadcast live from the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles.
Michael’s penchant for designing original magic started at age 15 when he created an illusion in which a girl vanished from the middle of a football field during halftime shows. Since then, Michael’s original designs have been featured in productions around the world, including the "Magic & Beyond" show in Branson MO and famed illusionist Silvan’s television series “Paolo Limiti” in Italy. Michael was also approached to contribute a design for the recent Hans Klok & Pamela Anderson show at the Aladdin Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. In addition, Michael has acted as Magic Consultant for several film and television projects, recently teaching magic to the actors on the CBS Daytime Drama "The Bold and the Beautiful".
Michael Grandinetti is redefining the word "Magician". By combining stunning close-up sleight of hand, innovative platform effects, and spectacular grand illusions with his inimitable personality and style, Michael shows his audiences a side of magic they will not soon forget.
