The following is some video you don't want to miss watching. Why? It includes some very interesting segments (from bizarre to almost "scary"). First let me say, I applaud the city and the Chicago Loop Alliance for a valiant effort.
The following is a video (uncut and unedited) you don't want to miss watching. Why? It includes some very interesting segments (from bizarre to almost "scary"). In addition to the video, I include a link to an "audio" interview with a Chicago Street Performer...you know, the sax player on the street. Most of you have heard him playing on the street, but, probably never stopped to talk to him. I did and the "audio" interview is below.
First let me say, I applaud the city and the Chicago Loop Alliance for a valiant effort. I know it is only their 2nd year and to pull something like this event off is going to have its "speed bumps".
The following video is "raw" and "real" non edited footage as myself and fellow street teamer Theresa Carter walked the streets of Looptopia with the camera rolling from 10 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Seriously, you want to watch the whole video as things start getting crazy on the streets as we "inched" toward 1 a.m.
Here are some things that you will see in the following video:
1. Reckless Records - "Noise", 3 dudes scraping records together at a million decibels heard from blocks away. Creative expression? Sign em up!
2. A guy who thought I was from the T.V. Show 24/7. I have no idea why but he just walked up to my camera while I was filming and started raving about the show.
3. Very cool Street performer twirling fire at Michigan and Wabash.
4. Theresa Carter of the NBC 5 Street Team calling in a "live blog post" in the middle of the intersection at Michigan and Wabash. No worries, we brought her to safety :-)
5. "Leilani" - just the cutest!
6. YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS SCENE! - I can't explain, but, watch for yourself and please be sure to comment on this scene below by clicking on the "comments" link after watching it.
7. Sax Player on State Street in front of Chicago Theater. We also conducted a podcast interview (below) with him to bring you a "street performers point of view of Looptopia". 8. Cirque Du Solei - gets "kicked" off the curb by "da cops".
9. Looptopian "Grace" saw our camera rolling as she was walking by and offered her thoughts about Looptopia which I believe sums up what Looptopia is supposed to be all about.
10. I caused a mob scene walking down Michigan Avenue and Washington as I was rolling tape. The cops had to break it up. I was just waiting for the light to turn green to cross the street.
11. Things turned "tense" for some near Millennium Park at Michigan Ave. at 1 a.m. - police swarmed the area.
Click the Play below to listen to a short interview with "A" Train, a Chicago Street Performer who offers his point of view of Looptopia.
Click the Play below to watch the uncut and unedited video we filmed walking the streets of Looptopia late at night....unexplainable! Warning - it is loud for the first minute (Reckless records recking records as art), but, then it settles down into some wild stuff.
TIP: Feel free to "drag" the play bar at the bottom of the video player to the 8 minute mark for some real wild video of the streets of Looptopia...
