Chicago Line Cruises offers unsurpassed tours of Chicago’s architecture and history.  The Architectural River Cruise takes you on a ninety minute trip down the North, South, and Main Branches of the Chicago River where you’ll get breathtaking views of the architecture that has made Chicago one of the best cities in the world.  The Historical Lake Cruise spends the majority of its ninety minutes coasting along Chicago’s Lake Michigan shoreline and then takes a short trip down the Main Branch of the Chicago River.

Within the first moments of one of our tours, you’ll see why The Chicago Sun-Times has said that our tours are, “Without question the best architectural tour available in Chicago; witty, informative [and] engaging.” Come sail with us and enjoy complimentary Starbucks coffee and fresh baked cookies as we explore the city of Chicago and find out how a city burned to the ground and then became the center of world architecture in just six short years.

Those interested in purchasing tickets can do so at our ticket office, located at North Pier/Ogden Slip (465 N. McClurg Court).  All our boats are also docked at this location.

Groups, which constitute parties of 20 or more, can be booked over the phone, via e-mail, or in person.  Once individuals and groups pick up their tickets at our ticket office, passengers may get in line by the boat their tour will be on.  Passengers will be able to board 15 minutes prior to the tour departure time.

All of our boats accommodate outdoor seating.  None of our boats are completely enclosed due to the nature of our tours.  In the event of rain, all of our boats have canopies and side isinglass panels that can be pulled down to protect passengers from inclement weather.  On our 200 passenger vessel, the Ft. Dearborn, passengers can go on the lower deck in the event of poor weather.

This is the city that put up the first skyscraper and virtually redefined the 20th century urban landscape.  No matter which way you turn on the deck of our flagship Fort Dearborn, the classic Innisfree or the intimate Marquette, a story looms up from the riverside related in fascinating detail by our expert guide.  Chicago took almost everyone by surprise, and it will take your breath away on one of our guided Historical or Architectural Cruises.  Critics say that if you have only two hours in Chicago, this is how to spend it.  Let us show you why.
