Sold Out Event at Hard Rock Café Featured Multi-Talented Peers, New Group Spaces and New Faces GaloreHeresChicago.com, the acclaimed online resource guide for the meeting and event industry, hosted its 3rd Annual Meetings & Hospitality Industry’s End of the Summer BASH! on Monday, August 24, from 5:00pm to 7:30pm at the Hard Rock Café Chicago. Breaking the previous records with 500 attendees, the BASH! offered event professionals the chance to wrap up their weekday by visiting friends, making new acquaintances and enjoying live rock music from bands largely made up of multi-talented hospitality business professionals.From the moment that In the Loop’s Andrew Shorr’s warm smile greeted us at registration, to the final moments snatching up a CD medley of tunes from the Hard Rock Café, it was non-stop face-time with old friends and new acquaintances. The networking was phenomenaI! In fact, someone in the midst of the buzzing crowd compared the experience to “speed dating.” There were so many new, fresh faces -- both planners and suppliers – making the most of their time.A wide variety of organizations and roles within the industry were represented, including corporate meeting and event planners, association meeting planners, wedding planners, group travel planners, event suppliers, hospitality professionals, administrative/executive assistants and corporate concierges.The evening’s performances were kicked off by a set by The Upbeat Group, with The Clarence Goodman Band and The Suppliers acoustic arrangements following. The Suppliers, an annual BASH! favorite, is an all-industry group comprised of well-known service providers.
